I ask myself this exact question a lot.
Am I doing enough with Pipiri?
Am I doing too much?
Would she be better off in school?
Is she around kids enough?
Would she learn more in a classroom?
I believe most parents who homeschool ask themselves these questions at some point or another...
I do feel that I am "qualified" to teach her in terms of my own education background.
I have a Bachelor of Science from Murray State University in Elementary Education - licensed kindergarten thru 6th grade. I completed half of my Masters of Education in reading - I had 15 hours towards it and then quit. BIG MISTAKE!! So I do feel like my education/degree has taught me how to teach - MSU has a wonderful education department which prepared me to teach in a classroom setting. I also taught several years in Kentucky, Florida, and Tennessee -
But some days it is difficult.
Some days are more challenging than others - keeping a household together - making sure I have taught her enough - taking care of myself - cooking - grocery shopping - daily picking up- working out - cleaning - errands - doc appointments - it can be a huge challenge. I also have to be super organized!
I don't know how long I will homeschool - I try to take it one semester at a time.
People ask me this all the time - and I truly dont know how to answer.
So for now I just keep on doing what I love - teaching and loving Pipiri!
Working out!!
And being the best mommy and wife I can be! THE END!
