Flower Fairies

I first discovered about the beautiful Flower Fairies when I learned about the Charlotte Mason way of homeschooling about 3 years ago from my awesome fellow homeschool mom Sherry.

I ordered by this book by Cicely Mary Barker, this coloring book, and this adorable cd and Pipiri and I have been enjoying them ever since!

We mainly have focused on the Flower Fairy Alphabet poems...which are beautifully written.

Each alphabet letter has a corresponding fairy and a little story about each fairy written into a poem.

We read these poems and listen to the CD several times a week.

We also made these little fairies and cards for each fairy using the following items..
this paper...I love watercolor paper for all sorts of crafts not just painting.
These beeswax crayons...the scent of these is soo yummy!

These pipe cleaners ....just twist for body and legs
These beads...use glue gun for head and feet
Like These faux flowers petals...push these through the "legs" of each fairy...use as many as you like
This yarn...for the hair...using hot glue gun to glue each piece down
Jute twine...also for hair using glue gun
Blue yarn...hair again...or crowns
Gold thread...really cute as a crown...

**I also used pieces of the faux flowers for hats etc...**
Very easy craft...each fairy takes maybe 10 minutes. Pipiri did most by herself as age 4.
