Review Captain No Beard series

I am so excited to do this review! Captain No Beard by Carole P. Roman.

It is so adorable and fit perfectly into Pipiri's love of pirates.

We were sent the most wonderful package of goodies! Pirate hats, 6 books, pencils, telescopes, pirate men, pirate ducks, t-shirts, gold coins, beach balls...even a treasure map! Pipiri loved it all!

The series introduces the main characters Captain No Beard who's real name is Alexander, his cousin Hallie his first mate... and the stuffed animals that live in his room, all of the captains crew.

The books all start out in the children's imagination....on their pirate ship (really Alexander's bedroom and his bed).

The books are geared towards an early reader say 4-7 years old.

Each book takes you on an adventure with Captain No Beard and his crew. Meeting new characters. Going on a deserted island. Finding a treasure.

Easy to understand concepts with a nice storyline. Great for this age reader.

Wonderful new words were introduced...doldrums, island, desert, demand. Pipiri wrote all of these in her main lesson book using rainbow words.

I loved how the books had a nice message...learning patience, to share, and being nice to others. All lead into talks she and I had about behavior.

She loved the pirate language used in each book. "Shiver me timbers", "Swab the decks". "Argh Argh."

We read the 6 books in two days. I read them to her first and then she read them back to me.

I give this series 5 stars! For an early reader they are perfect. Especially one that loves pirates like my sweetie.
