Easter craft book

To celebrate Holy Week for Easter this year we made this awesome book of hand and foot prints. 

We did several pages everyday...We actually completed it early. She was really into it so we just kept going.

We also read Stations of the Cross for Children Which is an awesome book to teach children about what Jesus actually went thru.

I use this religion curriculum with her Image of God: Who Am I?: Kindergarten. She actually does it on her own...lots of simple activities for her to do...cutting...glueing...connect the dots. 

       

            We also read our New Catholic Picture Bible...Stations of the Cross...and all of the chapters leading up to the resurrection. She absolutely loves this bible and asked to keep it in her room to read in the mornings.

Nativity scene

I have wanted a nativity scene every since becoming Catholic over 6 years ago.

When I discovered Waldorf education I found these amazing needle felted dolls that I fell in love with.

So this year I splurged and started our collection. 

To start with we bought some materials to make the crèche. 

A Crate like this one, Brown paint, Gold buff rub, Paint brushes, Wood stars, and Gold paint.

We painted the crèche brown. The stars gold. And used the gold buff rub on the egpdges of the crèche to make it look worn but yet golden. 

Turned out super pretty!

We made churches

I shoot for 2x a week studying religion with Pipiri. I am really enjoying the slow and sweetness of our curriculum and most importantly she loves it!  Image of God: Who Am I?

We made a little cut and paste church and then a Shrinks dinks church. Going old school! 

We then also went to our church St Henry's for an impromptu field trip. The sweetest lady gave us a tour (even though we go to mass it's nice to go behind the scenes...it looks very different when no one is there). She explained to us many tid bits I didn't know about....it was very special to both of us.
